Bottom Of The Lineup Carries Post 218 19U-AAA 18O Past Pittsburg Post 64 Sr 18U

The bottom of the lineup helped Post 218 19U-AAA 18O capture a 7-5 victory over Pittsburg Post 64 Sr 18U on Wednesday at Current Location. Ben Nieder, Brody O'Hanlon, and Josh Koirtyohann combined for five of the team's nine hits in the victory. They scored three runs and drove in three.

Post 218 19U-AAA 18O didn't take the lead until later in the game. The game was tied at five in the top of the eighth when Nieder singled, scoring two runs.

A solo home run to center field by Drew Eckhoff put Post 218 19U-AAA 18O on the board in the top of the first.

Jett Burgess grounded into a fielder's choice, which helped Pittsburg Post 64 Sr 18U tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.  In the top of the second, Post 218 19U-AAA 18O broke up the tie when Eckhoff doubled, scoring two runs. Then a single by Braxtyn Frankenberg followed to extend the lead to 4-1.  Pittsburg Post 64 Sr 18U tied the game in the bottom of the second thanks to a triple by JAYDEN BROWN, and a sacrifice fly by GRANT NICKLE.

A single by Burgess gave Pittsburg Post 64 Sr 18U the lead, 5-4, in the bottom of the fourth.  Koirtyohann singled to center field, which helped Post 218 19U-AAA 18O tie the game at five in the top of the sixth.

Caden Brocato earned the win for Post 218 19U-AAA 18O. The pitcher allowed two hits and one run over four innings, striking out one and walking two. GABE BROWN took the loss for Pittsburg Post 64 Sr 18U. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on two hits, striking out two and walking two. Kaleb Hoss began the game for Post 218 19U-AAA 18O. The hurler gave up three hits and four runs over three innings, striking out two and walking four. BEN MAJOR stepped on the mound first for Pittsburg Post 64 Sr 18U. The hurler gave up seven hits and five runs (four earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out six and walking two. Eckhoff collected the save.

Post 218 19U-AAA 18O piled up nine hits in the game. Eckhoff, O'Hanlon, and Koirtyohann each collected two hits for Post 218 19U-AAA 18O. Eckhoff led Post 218 19U-AAA 18O with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 2-for-5 on the day.  BRADY SLOAN, BROWN, NICKLE, KADEN BLACKLEDGE, and Burgess each collected one hit for Pittsburg Post 64 Sr 18U. BROWN and Burgess each drove in two runs for Pittsburg Post 64 Sr 18U. Pittsburg Post 64 Sr 18U had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. BROWN and MAJOR led the team with two free passes each.
